This product is intended for use in non-Tesla vehicles only.
This board unlocks any non-Raven 2012-2020 Tesla Model S/X Front or Rear small drive units.
Logic Board
All components and connectors (except the current sensors) have been fully soldered and tested with the latest firmware and default parameters. Once installed, you can access the inverter parameters via an easy-to-use web interface to tune the motor for your application. SDU boards supplied by Westside EV have been slightly modified so that the plastic MX150 connector fits better on the board and avoids breaking off the little leg protruding from the bottom of the connector.
Openinverter boards also feature onboard ~5kW charging, so you don't need to buy and integrate a separate onboard charger if fast charging is not required!
NOTE: Installation is not for beginners! It requires soldering delicate current sensors and moving fragile plastic parts from the old board to the new board. Watch this comprehensive installation video for guidance.
Current Sensors
Two new Melexis 7.3mV/mT current sensors are included, so you don’t have to worry about removing and reusing the existing sensors without damaging them.
Wiring Harness
Optional fully labeled MX150 wiring harness pigtail made with high-quality 18 AWG silicone wire, color-coded and labeled for the Openinverter logic board pinout. A full-color pinout card is included as well. Custom lengths can be ordered for $15 per additional meter.
Contactors
Optional used/refurbished high-voltage Kilovac EV200AAANA contactors. We recommend three contactors for pre-charge, main, and HV negative connections. These contactors feature an economizer and can handle 500 amps and up to 900vdc. Contactors show signs of use and/or refurbishment but have been tested and confirmed to work well. These units are very expensive new, so you are saving a LOT with these refurbished ones.
